At the moment he reported the incent to the head paladin which seemed like he didn't care about what he had to say. Casdin decided that this chapter was not following the ideologies of the brotherhood of steel and left to search for a new chapter, which he stumbled upon a new chapter called the outcasts. With that in mind we joined there ranks to maintain the true ideologies and purpose of the Brotherhood. Ralph grew up in the Brotherhood, no other way to put it. He never knew anything else. His father a Paladin, his mother a Scribe specializing in engineering. He had always heard about the might of the Brotherhood, and how it had diminished from years of peace treaties, particularly from his father. When he came of age, he hoped for something greater, some way to bolster the Brotherhood- he was sorely disappointed. Ralph watched as the Brotherhood he once felt he knew bent the knee to near anyone who asked. The gathering and safeguarding of technology took a backseat, this chapter was nothing more than a well-armed militant group, it had no right to call itself a chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel. His father agreed, he let his opinions be heard, and for this the family would be punished. Ralph's father was sent away on an expedition to unknown lands. Ralph's mother was forcefully made an initiate serving the Knights of the chapter in combat, and was quickly killed in what was supposed to be a routine and safe patrol. Ralph knew that the walls were closing in, and so when the opportunity came to leave, to follow the Brotherhood's true mission, and to preserve his family in some way, he took it. He left during the night with as much as he could carry, justifying the theft of supplies as in fact not being theft, as being the simple reclamation of goods owned by the real, rightful chapter and the real, rightful Elder. The Codex would be honored. The mission of the Brotherhood of Steel would be completed. Any false chapter would be assimilated, or annihilated. Ralph grew up in the Brotherhood, no other way to put it. He never knew anything else. His father a Paladin, his mother a Scribe specializing in engineering. He had always heard about the might of the Brotherhood, and how it had diminished from years of peace treaties, particularly from his father. When he came of age, he hoped for something greater, some way to bolster the Brotherhood- he was sorely disappointed. Ralph watched as the Brotherhood he once felt he knew bent the knee to near anyone who asked. The gathering and safeguarding of technology took a backseat, this chapter was nothing more than a well-armed militant group, it had no right to call itself a chapter of the Brotherhood of Steel. His father agreed, he let his opinions be heard, and for this the family would be punished. Ralph's father was sent away on an expedition to unknown lands. Ralph's mother was forcefully made an initiate serving the Knights of the chapter in combat, and was quickly killed in what was supposed to be a routine and safe patrol. Ralph knew that the walls were closing in, and so when the opportunity came to leave, to follow the Brotherhood's true mission, and to preserve his family in some way, he took it. He left during the night with as much as he could carry, justifying the theft of supplies as in fact not being theft, as being the simple reclamation of goods owned by the real, rightful chapter and the real, rightful Elder. The Codex would be honored. The mission of the Brotherhood of Steel would be completed. Any false chapter would be assimilated, or annihilated. This ideological conflict came to a head during a mission where the Brotherhood decided to intervene in a conflict between two settlements, offering military aid and technological resources to prevent a larger war. Henry was alarmed by the direct involvement, seeing it as a slippery slope towards the very outcomes the Brotherhood was supposed to prevent. Feeling increasingly isolated and convinced that the Brotherhood was abandoning its core responsibilities, Henry sought like-minded individuals who shared his concerns. This search led him to the Outcasts, a group that had split from the Brotherhood over similar issues. The Outcasts remained committed to the original mission of conserving technology, minimizing external intervention to avoid the perils of the past. Convinced that his true duty lay in preserving these ideals, Henry made the difficult decision to defect. He left behind his life with the Brotherhood and joined the Outcasts, where he could continue his work under the principles he believed were truly protective of humanity's future. In the Outcasts, Henry found a renewed purpose, dedicating himself to maintaining the delicate balance of power and technology in a world all too ready to repeat its old mistakes.
