Harassment leading to multiple community members leaving | Perma | Meeps | Appealable when I feel you have learned your lesson

What were you banned for? (What did you do?)
Following what the ban message said I was banned for the harassment of community members moving to Goliath, these members include but are not limited to KyttKytt, Robo and Butterday. Both of which I had previous issues with solely on what I heard of them doing in the Legion discord and being staff on Goliath, a community which openly sends people phishing links to their members, I then called her out on this in the Divide discord which subsequently she and a few others left because of. Following this feeling my time was up within the community I was acting cocky in the Hilton Hotel discord which lead to Meeps, Scott and Dreadnought entering the voice chat and relaying that I was being community banned.

However when speaking with Meeps and the others previous offenses of mine were tacked onto my overall banning. Many of which being things I had apologized dearly for before-hand and believed that Meeps had forgiven me about, the most horrid of these offenses was me abusing my developer permissions when I was working on the Divide team from May through June. I was reprimanded for these and stripped of my developer rank and I very obviously diminished Meeps' trust and our friendship. Meeps had helped me out from January of this year when we found Claymore's 6.0 map files un-obfuscated by keith in a hidden addon, we released the older version of the map onto the workshop and that re-kindled Meeps' interest in mapping, where he and Roadkill over a period of three months produced rp_provo, a really decent re-imagining of the environment originally for the now dead Claymore. Somewhat after releasing our map I was banned from Hilton Hotel after being a retard, Meeps would frequently check in with me and we would talk about gmod falloutrp shit. Eventually through the help of Meeps and hempwraps I was allowed back into the Hotel and given a second chance.
I do not believe that these offenses being tacked on was unjust, I simply wanted to explain further into why I was banned by the community owner.

Please provide any evidence you have regarding the incident that led up to your ban.
I don't believe there's any qualifying evidence nor do I refute that this happened any other way that what I described above (this is a stupid question and should be removed from the format).

Why should you be un-banned?
Looking back I believe fully that I was in the wrong, I constantly think back and wish I wasn't retarded enough to fuck with the server or it's community, but more importantly I wish I hadn't abused Meeps' trust or our friendship. I believe the initial ban reason of harassing said community members is significantly diminished as those members ditched the community for one that is a shitty mockery of what a bunch of friends did for fun all summer. I believed in Divide from the start, gave my own money for group-funding the purchase of the gamemode, website hosting, server hosting, addons and more. Letting my own temptations and flaws get in the way of it just being a gmod server for fun ruined and decayed what my time with Divide should have been.
Originally my mindset was still tainted from Claymore, my experience of that community was shit and was a constant string of g-drama which ended up emigrating to the Divide to take it's place. The same playerbase that casted me and my friends out and ostracized us for made up shit was playing a product of our hard work out of desperation. I falsely believed that people cannot change and kept my same opinions about people I had very infrequent encounters with on Claymore. I believe my mindset has settled somewhat in the time that I have been banned, I have gained perspectives on a lot of things people do not like about me and mellowed out in most terms. I do wish to better myself further, and believe that I have personally learned my lesson.

Regardless of my banned status I have been working on a map from scratch to encapsulate The Capital Wasteland in a better light than the original capital wasteland/fallout 3 map is able to convey, with the help of a model developer acquaintance we're working on bringing urban fallout combat to life. Currently I'm working on formulating a dense city and wasteland mixture semi-resembling Fallout 3. I don't have any screenshots of the map as I haven't had time to compile it however I will show off some of the assets;

I am looking for input on the map in what players would like to see, however as I am banned its pretty hard to gauge what would be wanted. Noting also that I cannot port everything into a gmod map and it would be like a homonculoid version of the Fallout 3 map. Similar to how the current divide map layout is nothing like New Vegas.

Adding on, I'm deeply apologetic to Scott, Dreadnought and Jacoba for how I have acted toward them in regards to this and in the past, I understand that they are simply doing their gmod jobs and I think its insane to take gmod shit out of the game and apply it to real people's characteristics and personalities.

I believe throughout working tirelessly on the map for a few days straight has brought me to realize that I can't understand the amount of effort Meeps has been putting into this server and the community. Its incredibly hard to keep people satiated and under control and sometimes you just gotta keep them in line and filter out people that are trying to ruin that for others. I completely understand why I was banned and am simply asking for forgiveness and to be un-banned from the community.

I want you to come back and I want you to genuinely be better, but I will always question whether or not you truly mean what you say.

You're not a bad guy. You just make (and made) bad choices. You can do better, and you've proven that slowly.

This is what I meant when referring to a meme as this had been shared around in the hotel for a few days prior, at the time I believed it was funny but looking back it was cruel and unrelated to what I believed she was doing. At the time I was told by people in the legion discord that there was a channel where she and butter were forcing Vodkan, a minor, into "meowing" for them. I had no actual proof of this happening and I acted abhorrently regardless.

As for the stuff with Vodkan, as Torr said, Vodkan was just weird. In addition, Butter, Kytt, and Vodkan are all around the same age, with Butter being the youngest iirc. It appears as though some things never change, though, as you self reported the entirety of the good ol Hilton Hotel with saying that the joke about kyttkit (who was 17) being a pornstar was circulating there first, which resulted in you sharing it and being banned.

 

I understand that when your primary social circle is widely sharing something and feeling as though its fine you kinda forget that people outside of that circle may view it differently, but the fact of the matter is you caused people to entirely quit the server over things YOU did. Those people are not coming back, either. In fact, I believe Kyttkit has entirely quit gmod- obviously this wasn't solely you, but your contribution to it was the final straw. I think that goes for all those who left over your actions, it wasn't just your actions. 

 

Basically, the appeal has merit, but not merit that you mentioned. You skirted around the issues that you should have addressed directly and mentioned irrelevant shit (like your ongoing work on a map) that doesn't actually contribute to the appeal, then appealed to the people who weren't harmed by your actions. I've basically presented the reason you SHOULD be unbanned for you- it wasn't just you. That doesn't mean that you don't share in the responsibility of what happened, especially as it WAS you who shared these things and took it outside of a private setting, but there should be consideration that other people, people in similar or higher positions than Gus, took part in this and received absolutely no punishment.

 

Gus has been banned now for, what, a month, going on two? Don't entirely unban him, but also don't say he won't be unbanned. People fuck up and can change, Gus hasn't really presented that change through this appeal but whatever. I feel like with an actual appeal, one that addresses the issues that need to be addressed, cuts out the fluff, and appeals to those affected should be rewarded. Let Gus rewrite the appeal here and if it comes out genuine and good then reduce his ban to have like a month left on it.

 

This ban, and potential unban, sets a gigantic precedent for better or worse. Meeps has already stated his zero tolerance policy on harassment, and there needs to be careful consideration of what is considered change and how it should look.

I feel as my entire appeal was as genuine as it could be, I didn't skirt around issues as I merely was uneducated about certain topics. Furthermore I felt as if Meeps was more hurt in this entire situation than the people that left the community, and that was the brunt of the issue and banning. I very strongly feel responsible for Robo, Butter and KyttKytt leaving but at the end of the day they do not interact with the community anymore and aren't being effected by me being banned or unbanned.

I wronged Meeps more than I did than the three that left the community, It makes me feel like shit thinking about it constantly and I am in no position nor want to repeat my actions. On the topic of harassment I had addressed that I believe I am past gmod drama currently (unless some weird ass pony erp server is using my maps).

I mentioned my mapping and modeling skills as a show that I can be of purpose to this community and that I have in the past, I invested incredulous hours of my summer developing updates to the map, working on models that ended up being broken and not used among other things. I had also paid in-part for the gamemode in-general, addons and server/web hosting. I am not claiming I deserve to be unbanned solely on the fact that I paid for assets used in the community's production but as a show of how much I care for this community. I fucked up and made a joke about someone who I didn't know the facts on and made the community look bad as a whole.

However saying that my appeal looks disingenuous is simply incorrect and a matter of an opinion of someone who barely knows me.
