  1. What do you want to be changed? Add a rule that using a stealthboy is automatically KOS Explanation of suggestion? In the fallout games, using a stealthboy often indicates covert operations, hostile intent or an attempt to escape, following this fact, it makes sense to designate the user as KOS. For example, if a nightkin stealthboys around me, I am going to assume that I will be the target of an attack/kidnapping, if so, I should be allowed to spray and pray the area or in the scenario of a player with a stealthboy caught in a dangerous situation, could activate their stealthboy to escape without any consequences, disrupting the balance of the encounter. Apart from the PVP aspect, treating stealthboy users as immediate threats also enhances the immersive experience of the server. This rule will encourage players to think carefully before using a stealthboy, adding a layer of strategy. Players will need to weigh the benefits of temporary invisibility against the risk of being targeted by everyone, leading to more thoughtful and engaging gameplay. How or why does this benefit the server? This change benefits the server by maintaining balance, enhancing immersion, and encouraging strategic gameplay. Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? N/A
  2. Format: ======================================================== What do you want to be changed? Make a server manager, Gremlin is gone, Meeps is gone, Roadkill is too focused on NWB to micromanage a staff team. Staff council while council lacks a clear and concise organization. Find a member of the staff team who hasn't had any major issues, has not exploited, abused and is unbiased to take over as the server manager for the sole purpose of keeping SC organized and keeping the status quo in check. Explanation of suggestion? A manager is not their to micromanage the server as a whole, but organize staff council in order to make sure that the decisions being made are being discussed and always voted upon. This seems to be a contention in the community at the moment. You again need to bring in an unbiased staff member for this role and someone with maturity in their decision making skills. How or why does this benefit the server? Organizing shit always helps Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? Yes add the entire GMOD workshop to divide content pack. ========================================================
  3. What do you want to be changed? Longer NLR in wars Explanation of suggestion? Pretty obvious. How or why does this benefit the server? Too many stalemates in wars, longer NLR will determine a winner, if not well then thats when a stalemate is achieved. Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? No
  4. What do you want to be changed? I guess what I would like to see is for the outcasts to actually be a faction made of BOS outcasts, instead of individuals being grandfathered in by means of ooc, or random wasters being recruited. Explanation of suggestion? I find it peculiar how the alleged “outcasts” of the brotherhood of steel are comprised of mainly individuals who have not served the BOS in character… I am ready to overlook much of the co-operation between the bos and outcasts, it just seems like something is missing. How or why does this benefit the server? This isn’t a milsim server, it’s an rp server. It’s kind of disappointing to see a canon faction like this be turned into an orbiter proxy faction, especially in this case, because they are enemies in the lore. I’m not saying that they should be forced to be enemies, I just think that if the outcasts were actually BOS outcasts, that would add a whole new dynamic of roleplay to the server.
  5. What do you want to be changed? A new rule added under the Mugging Rules Explanation of suggestion? Add a rule where you are not allowed to leave the person that has been mugged cuffed and tied to a wall, blind folded, and gagged. How or why does this benefit the server? This allows for the victims of the mugging to continue on their play of the server. Without being tied to some corner of the map where people rarely pass by. Without this rule this would allow some really, really scummy people to just leave someone after a mugging to just sit somewhere , staring at a black screen, unable to call help, and waste their time on the server, denying them any fun. Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? No.
  6. ======================================================== What do you want to be changed? Lower slave collar time to 15-20 minutes and give Legion a similar vendor to that of PF, where they can sell people they kidnap to the vendor for caps. Explanation of suggestion? Legion don't do slave RP, you get grabbed put in the mines and left there for 30 minutes and told to hold down lmb or do +attack in console for 30 minutes. There's no RP being done so this won't remove RP. It would allow for people to be kidnapped by legion and still not lose 30 minutes of your time. How or why does this benefit the server? No more lvl 1's enslaved in the mine, no more getting on badass gmod server to mine for 30 minutes. Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? No ========================================================
  7. What do you want to be changed? Add Binoculars into the game to serve as a replacement to suit zoom. Explanation of suggestion? Due to the removal of suit zoom, there was word about implementing or replacing it with binoculars as an alternative (I'm not saying it, it's what I heard, shut it, Jacoba). This is just to see if whether that is something in development or to be considered. It would be fair to allow staff/devs to interpret the price of the item in the f1 menu (ex. like the grappling hook, 100 caps or more), and it would replace the slot for handcuffs, much like fishing rods do. How or why does this benefit the server? It would serve as an alternative to suit zoom since it made no sense to exist to begin with. It would give those that LIKE suit zoom peace of mind but considering it would be like a new equipment for players, you'd practically have to swap weapons to use it, plus the bonus of people not exploiting it with console commands to give players additional zoom when using a sniper or any other scoped weapon. Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? Nope, considering that Meeps and the server has ALL of CGC's old assets, which includes Boomers, you could use the binoculars model as a start.
  8. What do you want to be changed? Make gaming on the server while heavily intoxicated or high a temporary ban Explanation of suggestion? To explain further and not naming people in question (Since there's more than one), there have been two experiences I've seen where players have made erratic decisions while under the influence of alcohol. This would be a TEMPORARY ban as to intervene in their actions. Simply as in 1 to 12 hours is enough and would NOT count against their player record. It would go through a trust system, only reports by respected players from your own faction. How or why does this benefit the server? This is more of a common sense thing if anything simply as an intervention. No-one should do certain things while under the influence of real substances. Drunken RP is one thing since it's in game and you know what you're doing, but if you're gaming while actually drunk, you're bound to fuck up eventually. I know people are going to downvote this. ESPECIALLY the veterans, that's fine. Just know that if anyone you're in charge of starts fucking up faction relations, leaking faction gear, or get banned breaking rules without noticing and it screws YOU over, simply because they aren't in their right mindset, I WILL point and laugh and say, "I told you so". Sidenote: This doesnt mean simply strictly banning if youre even caught drinking a shot or two in the vc, but its common sense to see if someone is tipsy, it's time for them to take a break. Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? FUCK NO.
  9. What do you want to be changed? I am not sure where to post this (there is no suggestion channel in the BOS discord and I don't wanna flood anyone's inbox), but here we go: Have the Brotherhood restructure into something more resembling the classic chapters of the West Coast. Explanation of suggestion? 1.) Scribes: Responsible for research and keeping records. 2.) Knights: Responsible for manufacturing equipment for use in the field as well as maintaining Brotherhood assets (crafting). Allowed to assist in combat operations. 3.) Paladins: Responsible for securing technology and defending the Brotherhood. Dedicated soldiers given access to the best equipment available. -Scribes will remain purely dedicated to research, as they were before. -Knights would take up the role of building weapons for the chapter to use, as was their primary purpose in the classic games. Knights can assist Paladins in combat, and may train to one day become a Paladin. They will be limited to light armor and small arms. -Paladins will be given all the best armor and weapons. Power armor would be concentrated into the Paladin caste, just like in the classic games. This means Paladins would wear both T-51b and T-45D. They were always responsible for the brunt of the fighting, as opposed to CGC where they were treated as hall monitors and some goofy "special forces." I want to see that classic role return. DISCLAIMER: Do not be fooled into thinking that having all power armor be used by the same caste will somehow increase the total number of PA units. It won't. The numbers would rise and fall the same as if the Knights remained a combat force like they were in CGC, only now all the Knights who would have had power armor would be Paladins. I don't want anyone to downvote this thinking "splitting PA between two castes means less PA in the field," as that really isn't true. IMPORTANT: This idea also contains an idea for a BOS faction perk. Basically it would be to have a vendor in the BOS base that sells blueprints researched by the Scribes. This is based on the lore of the West Coast chapters, where Knights build things based on knowledge preserved by the Scribes. Here is an example: A Paladin brings in a blueprint for a plasma rifle and gives it to a Scribe. Said Scribe spends x amount of time researching the blueprint, "preserving" it within the Brotherhood archives. A Knight visits said archive and buys a copy of the preserved blueprint and uses it to learn how plasma rifles are made. TL;DR: Have the Scribes research, Knights build, and Paladins do the fighting. Give the BOS an archives terminal in their base that sells blueprints researched by the Scribes for the Knights to build with. How or why does this benefit the server? It brings the BOS more in line with the original lore and the original structure of the faction seen in the West Coast chapters such as Lost Hills and Hidden Valley. There are also practical reasons as well: Having Knights be purely dedicated to the production of new weapons ensures there is always a better weapon for a member to use. Any excess or low quality weapons can be recycled to gain money for the faction. it also means Scribes can purely focus all their time on research. The best weapons and armor in the faction will be concentrated into one caste, rather than being split between two castes who rarely interact or co-operate. The roles of all three Castes will also be clearly defined. Scribes research, Knights build, and Paladins fight. In the current state, two castes do more or less the same job and their purposes blend together. Paladins would go from being some small cabal of glorified police officers to being the Brotherhood's primary fighting force (as they're supposed to be), and their numbers would obviously grow to reflect that. Armor and weapons would still be locked to ranks in the Paladin caste to avoid and concerns of mass fielding. As for the faction perk, it makes sense given the lore of the Brotherhood. They exists to preserve knowledge and technology, this vendor would reflect that. It would just be a small terminal in the BOS base that gets updated with new blueprints researched by the Scribes. I would not be overpowered, as the faction would still need to find the frames and the materials needed to actually build the weapons. Are there any workshop add-ons or content needed for this suggestion? None
